Abstract: This publication offers a broad approach that includes the main steps to be considered in the process of eliminating corporal punishment. It provides very necessary tools to reach this goal. Based on studies undertaken in different parts of the world, it clarifies the human rights imperative. It describes the various aspects of the negative consequences and implications caused by physical punishment. It gives in detail the practical methods of the most constructive and effective techniques of child discipline and ongoing support material for long-term change. This book was published in cooperation with the International Institute for Child Rights and Development (IICRD), leader on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in the community, in the region, in the country, and in the world.
