Resumo: Em preparação para a CONFINTEA VI (Sexta Conferência Internacional de Educação de Adultos), foram realizadas conferências regionais nos cinco continentes. Cada conferência regional elaborou e validou os seus respectivos documentos finais em que se tentou sintetizar dados básicos sobre sua região, avanços, desafios, assim como estratégias e recomendações para o futuro próximo em educação ao longo da vida. A publicação reúne esses cincos documentos e agrega o relatório regional completo da América Latina e do Caribe.  A UNESCO e o Ministério da Educação divulgam estes documentos como uma forma de contribuir para a preparação da delegação brasileira, que participará da CONFINTEA VI, em Belém. Também dedicam esta publicação para todas as pessoas envolvidas e compromissadas com a educação e aprendizagem de jovens e adultos, pois esta pode servir como fonte de informações e perspectivas que ajuda a entender a realidade brasileira e a aprofundar e questionar as práticas realizadas do país.

Abstract: In preparation for CONFINTEA VI (Sixth International Conference on Adult Education), Regional Conferences were held in the five continents of the world. Each Regional Conference drafted and validated their respective final documents in an attempt to summarize basic data about their regions, advances, challenges, as well as strategies and recommendations on lifelong learning for the near future. This publication brings together these five final documents and attaches the complete regional report for Latin America and the Caribbean. UNESCO and the Ministry of Education in Brazil publicize these documents as a way of contributing with the preparation of the Brazilian delegation that will participate in CONFINTEA VI, in Belem. They also dedicate this publication to all people involved and committed to young people and adult education and learning, as it may also serve as a source of information and perspective aiding the understanding of the Brazilian reality, improving and questioning the practices used in the country.
